The H&G Canal Trust: Restoration: Yarkhill

The Yarkhill Project site starts ¼ mile to the west of the Hereford-Worcester road and stretches for about ¾ mile to the site of Barr's Lock, partly clothed in a beautiful avenue of trees. The restoration of this section was completed except for final "re-puddling" (to make it watertight) in 1996.

The Yarkhill Project illustrates what can be achieved by concentrating volunteer efforts in week or fortnight camps. Working in that way, you really get to see some progress on the ground.
