The H&G Canal Trust: Restoration: Yarkhill |
The Yarkhill Project site
starts ¼ mile to the west of the Hereford-Worcester road and stretches for about ¾ mile
to the site of Barr's Lock, partly clothed in a beautiful avenue of trees. The restoration
of this section was completed except for final "re-puddling" (to make it
watertight) in 1996.
The Yarkhill Project illustrates what
can be achieved by concentrating volunteer efforts in week or fortnight camps. Working in
that way, you really get to see some progress on the ground. |
