The turn of the year saw us working in the Wharf House annex - which will be the disabled bedroom and boiler room.
Here you see the bedroom being divided from the boiler-room.

Cutting and then gluing the skirting in a bedroom

Painting the Annex windows and improving the beading on a bedroom door

The space under the eaves is being used to build-in wardrobes

Installing outside lighting has made the approach to The Wharf House much more pleasing during the evenings

A misty, frosty view of the car park in mid winter

We decided that for the 2006 Open Days we would produce a new set of smart signs to help visitors appreciate the history of the site. Production took several weeks in early summer.

Summer was well advanced this year by the time we tackled the grass cutting around the car park and below The Wharf House. Quite a task!

The weedcutter boat proved useful through the summer

For much of the summer we had two resident swans - Rudolph and Margot

In September we started to improve the entrance to Over Basin. The area between the pavement and the Bailey bridge has been re-profiled, and edging blocks have been laid ready for laying paviors. The excavator in the background is re-profiling the path down to the water and making it more wheelchair friendly.
(Sorry about the red hue to the pictures!)

Progress on the wall and with re-laying the path from the terrace.
The large buried box will enable us to install a telescopic bollard to prevent unwanted traffic entering the site.
Profiling the entrance ready for laying paviors.
Laying paviors between the pavement and the bridge and on the path from the terrace.
Cutting paviors to fill in the edges.
Progress on the paths and wall.
Progress to mid November.
