The Triple Open Day - 6 September 2009
The Triple Open Day, featuring events at our Over, Oxenhall and Llanthony restoration sites was blessed with fine weather, got off to a busy start with car parks filling to capacity. The guided walks to Llanthony Lock proved very popular and the homemade cakes, ice creams and refreshments did a roaring trade.
An array of stalls and information about the Canal restoration and sustainability greeted visitors and several new members joined the Trust and a lot interest shown in volunteering.
At the Oxenhall Open Day the crowds turned out in greater numbers than ever before. The newly restored aqueduct was on show and a special viewing platform had been built to enable people to see the detail in the stone work with the volunteers on hand to answer any questions. Refreshments in the Parish Hall were very popular and several new members were signed up.
We hope that all who came enjoyed their visit!
