Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal Trust Sales Team 2009

This year’s Sales Stands have been very successful. Good weather has made people turn out to events in the UK and discover the canals and waterways.

 

We started the year at Malvern at Tractor World - this was followed by the Gloucester Boat Jumble and Crick Boat Show. After the fire, floods and gales of the last three years at Crick, the weather was great and the crowds were out in force.

 

Two new events were added to the calendar - Tall Ships in Gloucester Docks and the Lydney Boat Gathering. Both events were held on very hot sunny days.

 

The Tall Ships was a very popular event with thousands of people attending both days. We were able to introduce the Trust to a new audience. We had good sales, sold lots of Holiday Draw tickets and gained a few new Members too.

 

Lydney Docks for the boat gathering is a lovely venue, again well attended, and we thank the Lydney Yacht Club for their hospitality.

 

We had a very successful trip to the Braunston Historic Boats Rally, good sales and a generous donation from Braunston Marina – thank you. 

 

We managed to escape from the stand for a few minutes to watch the parade of working boats – wouldn’t it be great to see Alder or Renton there in the future?

 

Thanks to all the volunteers – we still have a very busy season ahead.
