Membership of the Trust

The Trust is wholly run by enthusiastic volunteers, who support the Canal restoration in many ways. The volunteers bring their own particular knowledge and expertise to the Trust, which they share with others.  Many new skills are learnt whilst working with the Trust.
Anyone can join the Trust. Armchair members are just as welcome as ‘muddy ones’, and you will be surprised at the number of ways in which you might be able to help us.

Help us to restore the Canal!
You can work as a member of our restoration teams –
  • learn new skills like bricklaying, or driving dumpers, bulldozers or excavators.
  • help in many other practical ways, from towpath maintenance to mixing mortar.
  • help us spread the word about the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal – we attend local and national events, publicising the Canal and raising money for its restoration.
  • meet new people at our range of regular social events – from open days at one of our restoration sites to monthly social evenings.
  • support us as an “armchair member” which demonstrates public support for the Canal to funding bodies.

Learn more Volunteer Opportunities, or for details about joining the Trust, please see our Contact Us pages.  We can use your skills and enthusiasm – or your support as an “armchair” member.  Please help us to restore this historic waterway by becoming a member of the Trust today.
