The Wharf House Appeal
The fitting-out of The Wharf House has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and By DEFRA. This has enabled us to complete the ground floor - Visitor Centre, kitchen and Restaurant, but left us short of funds for completing the two upper floors. However, these grants left us short of some Ł80,000 needed to complete the fit-out and furnish the bedrooms. Our volunteers have done a considerable amount of work on these floors and done it to a high standard. The heating system is installed, most of the electrics, and the skirting and coving. They will continue to sand, varnish and paint. We are anxious to complete as soon as possible so that we can open for Bed-and-breakfast business and start to realise the full potential of The Wharf House. The Winter edition of The Wharfinger launched an appeal for help in the form of: Sponsor a bedroom - Ł5,000 secures the right (within reason) to name the room for 10 years and to maintain a company promotional folder in that room for the period of sponsorship. The sponsorship would also be acknowledged for the period within the Visitor Centre. Make a "soft Loan" - An interest free loan (any amount from Ł800 upwards) to be repaid in equal instalments between August 2010 and August 2017. Assist with the supply of materials - If your company is willing to provide high quality bathroom fittings, bedroom furniture and furnishings etc at very keen prices then please do get in touch.
